Nutmeg Essential Oil - 1/3 oz, (Frontier)

With its sharp, spicy aroma, the Nutmeg is used to flavor many kinds of baked goods and dishes such as confections, puddings, meats, sausages, sauces, vegetables, and beverages while its oil is used as a natural flavoring in baked goods, syrups (e.g. Coca Cola), beverages, sweets and such.

Nutmeg Essential Oil is used to fight inflammations, muscle and rheumatic pains as well as for assisting the digestive system, supporting the reproductive system, plus stimulating and invigorating the mind. This oil is also used to fight gas, nausea, chronic vomiting, chronic diarrhea, and gallstones. Nutmeg Essential Oil is also used heavily in both the perfume and pharmaceutical industries (this essential oil is used in toothpaste as well).

SUGGESTED USAGE
Add 1 to 2 drops of Nutmeg Essential Oil on a cotton swab and apply to the gums around your aching tooth until proper dental treatment is obtained. You can even add 1 to 2 drops of Nutmeg Essential Oil in a teaspoon of honey for digestive upsets and bad breath or add 3 to 5 drops on a sugar cube or a teaspoon of honey for nausea, gastroenteritis, chronic diarrhea, and indigestion.

You can even dilute 10 drops of Nutmeg Essential Oil in 10 milliliters of Almond Oil for a massage oil. This essential oil is nontoxic, non-irritating, and non-sensitizing but it may become toxic in large doses that produce such symptoms as nausea and stupor due to the myristicin contained in the oil.

Always consult with a health practitioner if you are pregnant, nursing, and have a medical condition even though you should not use this essential oil if you are pregnant. Keep this and other essential oils out of the reach of children and pets.

PRODUCT REVIEW BY JACKIE GARCIA
Nutmeg is not exactly a nut, but a kernel of an apricot-like fruit whose tree is naturally limited to the Banda Islands, a tiny archipelago in Eastern Indonesia (Moluccas). The Nutmeg is mainly produced in the countries of Indonesia (where the East Indian Nutmeg is exported to Europe and Asia) and Grenada (where the West Indian Nutmeg is exported to the United States).

While grated Nutmeg has been used in a sachet, the ancient Romans used it as an incense. It was such an important yet expensive commercial spice of the Western world that around 1600, Nutmeg was the object of Dutch plots to keep its prices high as well as being the object of both the English and French retaliation plots to obtain its fertile seeds for transportation.
