Known as the Italian Cypress or Mediterranean Cypress. The Cypress tree's wood was used by the Phoenicians and the Cretans for building their ships and houses while the Egyptians lovingly made their sarcophagi from it and the Greeks used the Cypress to carve the statues of their gods.
Bearing this sweet balsamic aroma lightly peppered with the warm rich hints of pine and eveergreen, Cypress Essential Oil is most commonly found in many men's personal care products. Famed for its ability to lift both the mood and spirit of a person, this oil has a calming and soothing effect on anybody who feels irritable, angry or even stressed out and possesses a valuable effect on varicose veins and hemorrhoids.
It works wonders in regards to those conditions where excess fluid is a problem such as bleeding, nosebleeds, heavy menustration, heavy perspiration, coughs, bronchitis, and fluid retention. Cypress Essential Oil's antispasmodic action is also considered very useful for asthma, whooping cough, emphysema and influenza in addition to soothing muscular cramps, easing arthritis and rheumatic pain, and is beneficial to skin wounds oily and congested skin.
SUGGESTED USAGE
Add some drops of Cypress Essential Oil in your burner or vaporizer to calm your mind or for your respiratory conditions, including asthma, whooping cough, bronchitis and emphysema.
You can blend this oil with your lotions and creams, add some drops in your massage oil, dilute it in your bath or footbath or even on a cold compress (which is very effective for a nosebleed). As with all natural essential oils, they are highly concentrated and should be used with extreme care and caution. Therefore, avoid any contact of this oil with your eyes. Since the Cypress Essential Oil is for aromatherapy use and not for internal use, you must always carefully dilute this oil with a carrier oil like Olive, Almond, Jojoba, or Grapeseed oil before using.
