Why has the SinuGuard tablet color changed?
In late 2004, the SinuGuard formulation was adjusted to improve both the manufacturing process and product consistency. Silica was removed from the formula and replaced with a combination of excipients, including modified cellulose, silicon dioxide, glycerin, and carnauba wax, designed to improve product flow and tablet binding and to provide greater protection from external sources (e.g., light, moisture, etc.). While the reformulation was under discussion, it was decided that the titanium dioxide colorant should also be removed as consumers have previously expressed such a preference. As a result, the tablet appearance has been slightly altered. The tablets, which were originally greenish-brown in color, now have a tan hue.
