I work outdoors, and am concerned about the application of chemical insect repellants to my bare skin, Burt's Bees has long been a favorite of mine, and their Insect Repellant is another great product. It truly does help repel annoying insects, and is long-lasting. The oil base also acts as a moisturizer, as working outdoors also dries out my skin. I also enjoy its lemony fragrance. It is light enough to use around the hairline and doesn't stain clothing, as long as you use it properly. A great insect repellant that won't expose you or your family to harmful chemicals!

This stuff actually works REALLY well. We used it at our lake home to ward off skeeters and flies and it did well, plus didn't make my six-year-old break out. He has eczema and lotions of EVERY sort make him break out like crazy so this stuff was a godsend. I do wish that it were a spray though. Application is oily and messy, and required washing hands with soap and water in order to hold a soda can afterwards because of it being so slippery. When using outdoors it would be nice to not need to wash hands after use. Overall worked great though.

I love most Burt's Bees products, but this one didn't work at all. First of all it was greasy, causing every bit of dirt and plant material to stick to my skin, and it flat out didn't work. I am a mosquito magnet and this didn't help at all.

I went camping with my kids for two days. On the first day, we used the regular bug spray stuff everyone uses (Off, Cutter, etc.) and we were eaten alive; it's as if the mosquitoes were *attracted* to it!!! I had recently purchased one of the First Aid kits, packed it and didn't realized it. My husband suggested trying that and we did not get more than a handful of additional mosquito bites after that! I am more than thrilled with this product!

This stuff is fabulous. I have gone through a bottle a month all summer on my family. We even traveled to South Carolina on vacation with Burt's insect repellent. No matter where we travel Burt's Bees does the trick. I don't like using chemicals on my daughter unless absolutely necessary. Not only does this stuff smell yummy, it's all natural. I love you Burt!

I have been searching for something like this. Since moving to the Midwest I have been dinner for many biting insects. I would get welts on me the size of golf balls. I purchased this product on the advice of my family that lives in S. California. I was finally able to water the garden without feeding the insect population. This is the first bug repellent I've used that really kept the mosquitoes away. It goes on light, not greasy. The lemon/citronella smell is pleasant, although it disappeared quickly anyway. It's safe to use on my son's sensitive skin. Great stuff!

Ahhh... insect relief without feeling sticky and dirty. Feels more like a moisturizer. Pleasant lemon scent without the chemical undertones. I do a lot of camping and working out in the yard and this works just as well as the chemical ones. It is what I will buy from now on.

I was very impressed with this product. I have 2 small children, whom I hate using any type of chemicals on. I bought this repellent because I've used many of Burt's Bees products and have loved them all. It is a bit oily, almost like applying tanning oil, but it smells wonderful, and most important it kept ALL the bugs away. Including may flies. Now my children and I can go in our back yard, which was once forbidden due to the bugs, and I don't have to worry about exposing my children to unnecessary chemicals. I love this product and would recommend it to everyone!

It works! At the horse barn, it keeps flies, mosquitoes, and gnats from biting. With the heat and humidity this summer, there have been clouds of insects, but the only bites I've gotten were on the one-day that I forgot my Burt's repellent! It's oily going on but does soak in, and there's no worry about harmful chemicals.
