DeTox uses detoxifying herbs known traditionally as "blood cleansers." Both organic Burdock (Arctium lappa) and organic Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) work together in this tea to facilitate the elimination of toxins. As pollutants find their way from our air, food and water into the tissues of our bodies, they tend to take a heavy toll and can interfere with the normal functions of the organ systems.
As a result, we are often left feeling swollen, tired, heavy or even "backed up" and as though we could use some rebalancing. DeTox is a gentle way of combating this condition as it helps the body to clean itself out by aiding the two primary filtering mechanisms, the liver and the kidneys. We have included Jamaican Sarsaparilla in this formula, which is known for both its delicious taste and it's purifying properties.
Juniper Berry supports kidney function while the most famous Ayurvedic cleansing blend, called "trikatu" (Ginger, Black Pepper and Long Pepper), is a mild warming formula, suitable for everyone.
Easy yoga for purification: sit on your heels with your knees spread wide. Bring your forehead down to the ground and relax in this position with the arms stretched forward and the palms together. This posture is called Guru Pranam. Breathe long and deep through the nose for 1-3 minutes. Then slowly sit up straight, take a few deep breaths and relax. Try this simple pranayam (breathing technique) coupled with a yogic asana (posture) for its cleansing effect. Before doing this exercise or participating in any exercise program, consult your physician.
SUGGESTED USAGE
For the best tea infusion, pour 8 oz hot water over one Ginger tea bag and steep for 5 to 10 minutes.
For a stronger effect, use 2 tea bags. Gently squeeze each tea bag to fully release the active ingredients. Drink 1-3 cups anytime during the day for rapid detoxification. No more than 10 tea bags should be consumed in a day.
