Mucous Membranes
When cough receptors are stimulated by irritants the body increases production of mucus. Coughing clears the airway of mucus containing trapped irritants. Expectorants such as blue gum tree (Eucalyptus) and horehound facilitate the removal of mucous membrane secretions.
Anti-Inflammatory Mechanisms
Every time you cough your airways are compressed. Coughing forcefully can irritate the membranes (lining) of the airways. SUGGESTED USAGE
Adults and children 12 years of age and older, take 2 teaspoons of Wellness Cough Syrup every 4 hours or as needed. Children 2-12 years of age, take 1 teaspoon every 4 hours or as needed.
