Internal uses: It has been used for dropsy, congestion of the liver, constipation, torpid liver, lead poisoning, diarrhea, jaundice, fevers, headache, rheumatism, syphilis, typhoid fever, uterine diseases, pin worms, abnormal cell growth and warts. A powerful purgative; the American Indians used it as a cathartic and also to commit suicide. Also has been used for stomach ulcers, colic, asthma, hay fever and whooping cough.
Therapeutic actions: Antibilious; Alterative; Anti-abnormal cell growth; Astringent; Anti-fungal; Anthelmintic; Anti-rheumatic; Anti-syphilitic; Anti-scrofulus; Cathartic; Cholagogue; Cytostatic; Diaphoretic; Deobstruent; Emetic; Hepatic; Hydrogogue; Purgative; Resolvent; Sialagogue; Tonic.
Use in small doses to treat liver and bowel conditions. Stimulates the glands. Induces vomiting.
SUGGESTED USAGEUse 6-12 drops in juice, water, under the tongue or as desired. May be taken 3 times daily. Shake well. Store in cool dark place. Keep out of reach of children.
