Maca is a rainforest herb that grows wild in the Peruvian Andes. Today Maca is used to increase energy and support the immune system. It is also used to treat anemia, chronic fatigue syndrome, impotence, menopausal symptoms, and menstrual problems. This herb is said to lubricate stiff arthritic joints and help ease respiratory illnesses. It has also been suggested that Maca can aid in fertility, and help overcome frigidity. Peruvian educational and scientific institution studies suggest Maca root can significantly increase sexual endurance and increase both the number and the activity of sperm.
