Christopher Hobbs is a world-renowned fourth-generation herbalist and author of 20 books on the medicinal use of herbs and other dietary supplements, including the popular Vitamins for Dummies and the Botanical Safety Handbook, the authoritative guide to herbal safety. With over 30 years of experience with herbs, Hobbs is the Director of Herbal Formulations for Rainbow Light Nutritional Systems, where he has worked since developing Rainbow Light’s line of herbal formulas in 1984. 
 
In addition to his post at Rainbow Light, Hobbs is a consultant for the pharmaceutical and natural products industry. He serves on the advisory board of the American Botanical Council and as a senior member on the admissions committee for the American Herbalists Guild, the only national organization for professional herbalists, which he co-founded in 1985.  
 
Hobbs is also a co-founder of the American School of Herbalism, an educational organization created to instruct the general public on the safe use of medicinal plants.
