Guggulu resin is a penetrating herb that scrapes out naturally accumulating toxins from the body channels. It is renowned for its ability to carry other herbs with it deep into the tissues. Guggulu's powerful detoxifying and rejuvenating qualities are directed to specific systems of the body by the herbs that accompany it. As such it is the basis for an entire class of traditional Ayurvedic formulas known as Guggulus. Its scraping action helps maintain healthy cholesterol levels already in the normal range and supports healthy weight management.

Guggulu supports healthy muscle and nerve tissue and promotes comfortable movement of the joints. Some classic healthy joint and tissue formulas include Yogaraj Guggulu (for vata imbalances), Kaishore Guggulu (for pitta imbalances), and Punarnavadi Guggulu (kapha imbalances).

DR. CLAUDIA WELCH
Claudia Welch is a Doctor of Oriental Medicine and a practitioner of Ayurvedic medicine. She began her study of Ayurveda in 1987 under the supervision of her mentor, Dr. Robert Svoboda. She lived in India for three years, where she studied Ayurveda, Sanskrit and related subjects. Dr. Welch worked at the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, NM with her teacher, Dr. Vasant Lad, for seven years. She has completed Hart de Fouw's Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced Jyotish workshops. She received her Master's Degree in Oriental Medicine from Southwest Acupuncture College in 1997.
Dr. Welch is a faculty member at The Ayurvedic Institute, Southwest Acupuncture College and at Acupractice Seminars in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Dr. Welch has lectured on Oriental and Ayurvedic medicines internationally. She has a private practice in Albuquerque.
